I found a family Barée in Hasselt Belgium. They stem from the family name Bareis.
Does anyone know what Bareis means?

In the course of time this name changed into Bareis and all its other -ß/-ss-versions (Bareiß/ Bareiss/ Pareiß..... (Paris)
